Thanks for visiting Greenman's Garden! Corinne will be doing plant walks each month at the farm for more information please click here.

How do you become a CSA member?
In 2010 we can have the equivalent of 15 full CSA members, however these 15 share can also be broken down into half shares as well.

If you have not signed up with Greenman's Garden in the past we would like to do a meet and greet before we begin working together for the year, so we can get to know each other. Please contact us first so we can set up a time to meet, preferably (but not required) at the farm so you can see where your food is coming from. We are Claude Mahmood and Corinne Boyer, we can be reached via phone at 360-432-3520 or email Claude at cwm3rd@comcast.net and please download and read the following form: Full Share CSA Membership Form or Half Share CSA Membership Form. If you have any questions feel free to ask. We are pretty flexible and open but we need to hear from you to make adjustments. Thanks!

What do you get out of the deal?
As CSA member you will get 18 weeks of fresh, ecologically sound, heart felt, pain stakingly grown food and when you eat it, you will have moments of excitement, uncertainty (because you are not sure what to do with that unusual food that you have never eaten), joy, surprise, and there will be moments of disappointment and sadness when one product goes out of season and sometimes you will be all to happy to see that veggie go away because you have had it for the last 4 weeks and you want something new! You will also get some of the most nourishing food of the finest quality. You will get the joy of cooking and hopefully you will share this enjoyment with friends and family! After all what is a good meal if not shared with those you care about.

What is a CSA?
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a relation between a local farmer and a community member. It is a commitment between two community members to support one another and to help one another to maintain a more localized community.

We want people to understand that a CSA is more then a mere business transaction between one stranger to another. When you join into a CSA you will get to know the farmer(s) and hear about what is happening out at the farm and in some cases you might be required to come out to the farm and help for a day or two in one way or another. You get to hear about and see the good with the bad. We want people who are interested in Community Supported Agriculture to be doing it, not because some article in a magazine said it is a cool thing to do, or because others say it's something that is worth doing; we want people to understand that when you sign up to become a CSA member you become connected to a piece of land, that you are a part of that farm in someway.

We share this because as the new rush and trend toward "local" catches on, for us as the farmers who are in the field it is about a life style not a trend. We really want people to feel that they are a part of something that is small but makes a big difference to us, the farmers, to you and the community. We put heart and soul into what we do because we love doing it. We hope that you get that sense when you talk to us or when you come out to the farm to see what is going on out there.

We want you as a person to really sit down and ask yourself why are you really looking at signing up to become a CSA member with a farm? We hope that the answer comes somewhere from within your heart!

“We find ourselves in a world that is already planted, but is also still being planted as at first.”
- Henry D. Thoreau

“Cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens. They are the most vigorous, the most independent, the most virtuous, and they are tied to their country, and wedded to its liberty and interests by the most lasting bonds.”
- Thomas Jefferson
