There is nothing like getting your first, fresh carrot of the season and seeing that amazing bright orange base with that green lush top. Then your eyes focus on the bottom of the carrot where you are going to take that first bite and when you do the flavor bursts in your mouth with nature’s sweetness. Green Garden Goodies are all the bi-products of making healthy soil that we as humans get to enjoy! This year I will focus on staple crops that most people love as well as having some you may not of had before. Eating with the season allows you to appreciate each of the foods you eat. Today we are able to eat pretty much anything we want whenever we want and it numbs are appreciation for the cycle of nature and eating what is available with each season. Buying produce from a local farm you not only get healthier more nutritious food but you also appreciate each of the vegetables that become available as the season changes. If you appreciate a certain vegetable more and want more then you can always come down on Saturday to Shelton Farmers Market as I will be there selling vegetables all summer long. I will also be selling some photographs and will have cards available for sale at the market and some of my mothers arts and crafts that she does. So come on down and see me there! |
