Why do I, Claude, have photography on a farm website. Well honestly Greenman's Garden has become my main website for sharing information and work. So I decided since farming and photography are both really big passions of mine I would combine them here.

I have been taking photographs for about 20 years now. I started with a 35mm Minolta X-700 which I got from my father, which I still have but never use anymore. When I was finally able to break into the digital realm of photography I really found my passion renewed as I also enjoy graphic design work as another art medium. Though I have not yet combined the two I find digital photography way more practical for me.

As Ansel Adams once said "You don't take a photo, you make it." If you have ever worked on processing an image then I am sure that quote makes perfect sense!

I am currently shooting with Nikon D80 with several different Nikkor lenses including a 60mm macro, 24-120mm, 70-300mm lenses. I shoot all images in RAW format for best image results and I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 as my modern day darkroom. I do simple modifications for color, tone, sharpness and whatever else can be done in a darkroom.

Photography has taken me a lot of time and patience, careful observation and some good light to get some of the shots I have today. I have always been inspired by how beautiful the world is around us. This is my focus to share what nature is in all its forms and the beauty it has to share with us.
